Herbert D. Henricks, 63
Herbert Dean Henricks died on Jan. 22, 2009 at his home after a brief illness.
Herbert was born on Jan. 12, 1946 in Austin, to Fred and Thelma (Helleck) Henricks. He graduated from Austin High School in 1964 and served in the United States Army from 1965 to1967. He married Christene Ludvigson on Sept. 10, 1967 in Austin. Herbert then attended Winona State University and worked for Qwest for 34 years, retiring as construction supervisor for southeast Minnesota. Herbert enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and their lake cabin. He also enjoyed his dog, Otis, playing cards, dancing and his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife, Christene, Rochester, Minn.; two sons, Douglas Henricks, Las Vegas, Nev. and Benjamin (Kim) Henricks, Rochester; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Mason Henricks, both of Rochester; sister, Ramona (John) Moede, Golden Valley, Minn.; five brothers, Ronald Henricks, Chester, Iowa, Tom (Carmine) Henricks, Marietta, Ga., Gerald (Susan) Henricks, Farmington, Minn., Phil Henricks, Minneapolis, Minn. and Ted (Kathy) Henricks, Fairport, N.Y.
Herbert was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be at 12 noon on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2009 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with the Reverend Steve Ronningen officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.
