County commissioners assigned to committees

There are 30 committees, commissions and boards on which Mower County Commissioners must serve.

They regular minimum schedule of regular meetings is three per month.

Commissioners receive per diem payment of $40 per meeting, but only for those meetings deemed “special” in content and requiring a representative of the County Board’s service.

Some of the assignments are higher profile than others. For instance, the finance and purchasing committee. Ray Tucker, 2nd District, and Dick Lang, 4th District, serve on this committee.

Dave Hillier, 3rd District, and Tim Gabrielson, 1st District, serve on the personnel committee; Tucker and Dave Tollefson, 5th District, serve on the buildings and grounds committee; Hillier and Lang serve on the solid waste committee and Gabrielson (Hillier is the alternate) serve on the planning committee.; and Tollefson and Gabrielson serve on the extension committee.; Hillier and Lang serve on the court system committee among the better-known committees.

All five commissioners serve on the county board of health and road and bridge committee.
