Cecily Spaulding, 82
Cecily Spaulding, 82, of Austin died on Jan. 17, 2009 at Austin Medical Center in Austin.
She was born on Oct. 18, 1926 in Fargo, N.D. to Charles and Laura (Young) Spaulding. Cecily moved to Waseca with her family when she was young. She graduated from Waseca High School in 1944. Cecily attended Mac Murray College in Jacksonville, Ill. for two years; The American Conservatory of Music in Chicago, Ill. for one year; and in 1949, graduated from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, where she majored in speech communication and theater. Cecily was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma social sorority. After college Cecily taught school for one year in O’Neill before teaching speech at Austin High School for 38 years. Cecily was also in charge of various extracurricular school activities, including directing and coordinating the Austin High School plays for many years. She retired in 1988.
Cecily was a member of the Congregational Church in Waseca, Minn. and P.E.O. Chapter Cu.
Cecily is survived by her nephew, David Spaulding, Texas; grand-nephews,  Peter Fieger, Colo., Henry Fieger, Colo.; grand-nieces, Kate Ling, Washington, D.C., Laura Ling, Colo.; dear, close friend and caregiver, Midge Priester, Austin.
She was preceded in death by her brother and two sisters.
As per Cecily’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Memorials are preferred to donor’s choice. Clasen-Jordan Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
