A student-written and directed play about “love, drugs and violence” debuts at Riverland Community College this weekend.

Shane May, whose ambition is to be a playwright, has produced “37 Stitches” from writing the script to the selection of his five-member cast — for characters including a writer, a heroin addict and an ex-wife — to direction of the play.

May said audiences can expect “rapid-fire dialogue and some disturbing content — and some laughs as well.”
