William R. “Fat Cat” Stanley, 64, beloved husband and soul mate of Lana K. Hajek, passed away on Dec. 9, 2008.
Bill was born on Jan. 1, 1944, in Houston, Texas, to Jessie and Willie D. Stanley. He was raised in Houston during his younger years, and later moved to Franklin, Texas, where in 10th grade, he was lured into the pipeline business. He traveled extensively around the world, working his way up from laborer, to helper, to welder and lastly to inspector. He quickly developed a reputation as a good and honest inspector, and was highly respected by all who knew and worked with him.
Bill is survived by his wife, Lana; brother, B.J. Stanley; and his four nieces: Amanda, Shelly, Pam and Karen.
Services will be held at Heartfield Funeral Home in Belton, Texas. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Albert Lea AA Club or Shriners Children’s Hospital.
