Wayne R. Bell, 87
Wayne Ray Bell, 87, life time resident of Austin, passed away on Dec. 5, 2008 following a short illness.
Wayne graduated from Austin High School, took classes at Austin Jr. College before joining the 8th Air Force, serving in England during World War II. Wayne worked at Gildner’s Clothing and was later employed as a foreman at Hormel’s in the beef and Spam divisions, retiring in 1983. Wayne enjoyed driving his cars, traveling and carving song birds.
No services are planned. A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held in the spring, 2009. Memorials to the Mower County Humane Society.
He is survived by his daughters, Marnie (Bernie) and Karen (Wes), Minneapolis and sister, Patricia (Ed), Austin. He is also survived by his furry companions, Mikie and Maggie.
He was preceded in death by wife, LaDonna and father, Charlie and mother, Blanche.
