Virginia M. Wawrzyn, 93
Virginia M. Wawrzyn, 93, of Adams, Minn., died on Dec. 10, 2008 at the Austin Medical Center.
Virginia was born on June 11, 1915 in St. Paul, Minn. to Joseph and Clara (Washer) Mandt. She graduated from Farmington High School in 1934 and was a graduate of Misericordia School of Nursing in Milwaukee, Wis. She married Edmund Wawrzyn on Aug. 31, 1940 in Farmington, Minn. They settled in Milwaukee where they raised their family. In 1978, they retired to Atlanta, Ga. and in 1982 they moved to Adams.
Virginia was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was active in CCW and other church activities.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Barry (Kay) Wawrzyn, Lake Forest, Ill., Ronald (Mary Anne) Wawrzyn, Fox Point, Wis., Stephen A. Wawrzyn, Green Bay, Wis.; brothers, Donald (Rosemary) Mandt, Rose Creek, Minn., Robert  Mandt, Rose Creek, Minn.; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren;  nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edmund in1983, and two brothers.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 13, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams with Father James Seitz and Deacon Andrew M. Wawrzyn officiating. The organist will be Helen King. Entombment will be in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wis. Visitation will be at the Adams Funeral Home on Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a rosary at 5 p.m., and a prayer service at 7:15 p.m. Visitation on Saturday will be at the church for one hour before the service.
