Vernon E. Jacobson
Vernon E. Jacobson, 86, of Grand Meadow, died on Dec. 29, 2008 at the Grand Meadow Healthcare Center in Grand Meadow where he had resided for about three years.
Vernon Earl Jacobson was born on July 17, 1922 in Grand Meadow Township to Peter and Alice (Johnson) Jacobson. In 1939 he graduated from Stewartville High School. On Nov. 4, 1972, Vernon was united in marriage to Pauline Anderson at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church.
Vernon farmed in the Racine area and also worked at IBM in Rochester, Minn. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, hunting, fishing, bowling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by two stepsons, Wyeth (Marilyn) Anderson and Harry (Donna) Anderson both of Glenville, Minn.; seven step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; one great-great-step-grandchild; brother, Duane (Maren) Jacobson, Marshall, Minn.; sister, Doris Anderson, Minneapolis, Minn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Pauline on Aug. 30, 2005; and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 2, 2009 at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church in Grand Meadow, Minn. with the Reverend Ann Siverling officiating. Burial will be in the Bear Creek Cemetery in rural Grand Meadow. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the Grand Meadow Lutheran Church. Hindt Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
