Mary A. Anderson, 95
Mary Ann Anderson, 95, of Adams died Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at Adams Health Care Center.
She was born May 17, 1913 in Austin Township to Joseph and Margaret (Schottler) Mueller. Mary Ann graduated from St. Augustine High School in Austin and then from Winona State University with a bachelor’s degree. She started her 45-year career teaching in a one-room rural school house in Taopi. The last 31 years of her career were spent at the Neveln Elementary School in Austin. Mary Ann was married to Edward S. Anderson on Nov. 21, 1953 at Queen of Angels Church in Austin.
Mary Ann was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. She was an active unit member, a member of R.E.A.M., AEA, MEA and NEA. She was a charter member of the Adams Health Care Center Auxiliary and the American Legion Post No. 146 Auxiliary of Adams.
She enjoyed her gardening, flowers and nature. She was an avid maker of rosaries, many of which went to foreign missions. Spending time with her family was always of great importance to her.
Mary Ann is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Louise Anderson, Austin; grandchildren, Sarah and Ryan Qualey, Austin, KatieĀ  Corbin, Austin, Joshua Corbin, Austin, Brenna Corbin, Austin, great-grandson, Colton Qualey; sister, Margaret Epley, Austin; nieces and nephews; Great-nieces and nephews; and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father James Seitz officiating. Interment will be in the Calvary Cemetery in Austin. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m., with a rosary service at 4 p.m. and a 6 p.m. prayer service, and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society. Casket Bearers will be Bob Rueter, Roger Epley, Jane Sathre, Mary Jo McKenney, Darlene Pater, Jim Epley and Richard Epley.
