Mae Boe Kasten, 91
Mae Boe Kasten, 91, of Adams, died on Dec. 1, 2008 at Austin Medical Center.
Mae Ruth Jacobson was born on April 12, 1917 to Gustave and Lillian (Withers) Jacobson near Elkton, Minn. She graduated from Rose Creek High School in 1935. In March 1936, she married Everett Boe of Adams, Minn. They lived in Adams until 1979, after Everett had an accident, they moved to Rose Creek. Everett (Shorty) passed away on Dec. 1, 1985. Mae married Delbert Kasten on Nov. 12, 1988 and he passed away in Sept. 1989. Mae moved back to Adams in 1998 to the Northside Apartments and later to Cedar Court Apartments.
Mae was baptized and confirmed in Marshall Lutheran Church and was the organist there for 10 years. The family transferred to Little Cedar Lutheran Church in 1958.
Mae enjoyed all of her family especially having everyone come home. She also enjoyed traveling and had many good trips to Norway, Canada and around the U.S. She worked in several business places in Adams and also at Adams public schools.
Mae is survived by her children, Warren (Maryellen) Boe, Iowa City, Iowa, David (Lynn) Boe, Lino Lakes, Minn., Rebecca (Kenneth) Hartwig, Rose Creek, Minn.; grandchildren, Randall (Elizabeth) Boe, Erik (Anne) Boe, Darin Boe, Michael Boe, Christina Boe, Lisa Hartwig, Nathan Hartwig, Lindsey (Keith) Christianson; eight great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, John Hawkins, Marshall, Wis.; Delbert’s children, Gary (Kathy) Kasten, Faribault, Minn., Lorna (Allen) Taylor, Austin, David (Sharon) Kasten, Leroy, Minn., Keith (LaVonne) Kasten, Leroy, Dan (Susan) Kasten, Dallas, Texas; eight step-grandchildren; 10 step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. 
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Everett and Delbert; daughter, Janice; one brother and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Friday, Dec. 5, 2008 at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with the Reverend Shari Mason officiating. Interment will be in the Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery in Adams. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service. Memorials are preferred in lieu of flowers.
