Kenneth L. Wermager, 83
Kenneth LeRoy Wermager, 83, of Elkton, died on Dec. 9, 2008 at Austin Medical Center.
He was born June 12, 1925 in Mabel, Minn., to Peter and Lillian (Hagen) Wermager. Kenneth graduated from Elkton High School in 1944. Kenneth served in the Merchant Marines in World War II and in the Army during the Korean War. On June 27, 1954 Kenneth married Mavis Gilderhus at the Little Cedar Lutheran Church. He served on the Elkton School board, the Little Cedar Church Council, the Cedar River Country Club Board of Directors.  Kenneth was employed at Hormel for 38 years. In his spare time, Kenneth enjoyed dancing, fishing, playing cards, golfing, working in his flower garden; he especially loved to watch the Vikings and the Twins. He was very proud of his family and enjoyed the time spent with friends and family.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Mavis Wermager, Elkton, Minn.; children,  Joe (Caryn) Wermager, Little Canada, Minn., Tim Wermager, Hastings, Minn., Rod (Jennifer) Wermager, Rogers, Minn. and Lisa (Jon) Dietrich, Dexter, Minn.; grandchildren, Tiffany, Travis, Chelsie and Ana; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and two sisters.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at 1 p.m. at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with the Reverend Shari Mason officiating. Interment will be held at Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery in Adams with Adams Post #146 American Legion in charge of military rites. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home and for one hour before the service at the church.
