Recent large snowfalls have resulted in fire hydrants and gas meters being covered with snow and ice.

The Austin Fire Department asks residents to shovel snow and ice from around fire hydrants so that quick access to them is possible in the event of a fire emergency.

Also, Austin Utilities issued a reminder to residents to shovel snow and ice from gas meters.
