Jane F. (Smec) Stephenson, 72
Jane Frances (Srnec) Stephenson, 72, of Austin, died on Dec. 3, 2008 in Rochester.
Jane was born July 8, 1936 in Winona to William and Eva (Schweitzer) Srnec. On Nov. 8, 1957 she was united in marriage to Stanley Stephenson in Winona. He preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 2008. 
Jane enjoyed working at the family owned Cookie Jar, spending time with the grandkids, gardening, listening to Elvis Presley, reading and knitting. Jane was an LPN, homemaker and a baker.
Survivors include her six children, Julie Stephenson, Austin, Dennis Stephenson (Ann Tubbs), Austin, Karen Stephenson, Austin, Willy Stephenson (Jean Blaser), Austin, Janice Maxfield (Joel), Sparta, Wis., Janine Nordland (Brian), Owatonna; seven grandchildren, Adam Stephenson, Caitlin Stephenson, Joseph Stephenson, Jacob Nordland, Brynn Nordland, Erik Stephenson, Andy Maxfield; three brothers, Bob Srnec, Winona, Jim Srnec (Judy), Lake City, Joe Srnec, St. Louis, Mo..
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, William and Eva Srnec; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Benjamin and Louina Stephenson; brother, John Srnec; granddaughter, Cassandra Nordland.
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at Mayer Funeral Home with Father John Traufler officiating. The family will greet friends a half-hour before the service at Mayer Funeral Home and also at a luncheon in the family room at St. Edward’s Catholic Church following the service.
The honorary casket bearers will be Jacob Nordland, Erik Stephenson and Andy Maxfield. The casket bearers will be Dennis Stephenson, Willy Stephenson, Joel Maxfield, Brian Nordland, Adam Stephenson and Joe Stephenson.
