Irene L. Callahan, 102
Irene Lucile Callahan, 102, of Austin, died on Dec. 3, 2008 at Our House Assisted Living.
Irene was born March 19, 1906 in Mankato, Minn., to Edward and Alvina (Neller) Nitzkowski. She was united in marriage to Joseph F. Callahan. Irene was a homemaker.
Survivors include a son, Michael (Judy) Callahan, Dayton, Nev.; daughter, Jean (Roger) Neilson, Anoka; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Bernadine Kvalheim, Mason City, Iowa.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph F. Callahan on April 3, 1953.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father Joe Fogal officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements by Mayer Funeral Home.
