Gary R. Dahl, 61
Gary Ray Dahl, 61, of Blooming Prairie, died at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester on Dec. 14, 2008.
He was born on March 28, 1947 to Raymond and Ruth (Johnson) Dahl in Owatonna, Minn. The family made their home near Blooming Prairie. Gary served in the Army following his education in the Blooming Prairie schools. He farmed and worked for IFP in Oslo for many years. He married Guadalupe Sanchez on Dec. 8, 1970. They were later divorced. A member of First Lutheran Church and Hayfield American Legion, he liked NASCAR, racing, guns and hunting. He loved his faithful dog, Bear and going fishing.
Survivors include four children, Gary (Heather) Dahl, Jr., Hayfield, Larry (Corina) Moreno, Hayfield, Corina (Tony) Bergeson, Albert Lea, Terry Dahl, Hayfield; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruth and Raymond Dahl.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 18, 2008 at the First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Wednesday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment is at First Lutheran Cemetery, Blooming Prairie, with military rites by American Legion Post 330 of Hayfield.
