Evelyn L. Goslee, 80
Evelyn Lois Goslee, 80, of Austin, died on Dec. 27, 2008 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in Austin.
Evelyn was born March 15, 1928 in Austin to Joseph and Emily (Moshier) Magee. Her father was a farmer and her mother was a house wife. Evelyn grew up with two younger brothers and one older 1/2 sister. Evelyn went to school in Austin and graduated in 1945.
Evelyn met her husband, John Goslee, who was her neighbor while growing up. They married on March 20, 1947 and were married for 15 years until he passed away at a young age. John was a farmer and Evelyn was a secretary at Hormel. They had six children together, Keith, Dwight, Larry, Janiene, Randy, and Meridee. As a family they showed cattle at fairs and got together for the holidays. Evelyn enjoyed reading, gardening, visiting with others and cooking. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and gathering the family together.
Evelyn is survived by sons, Dwight (Linda) Goslee, Marco Island, Fla., Larry (Paula) Goslee, Austin, Randy Goslee and Sue Overton, Lake Isabella, Calif.; daughter, Meridee (Dwight) Denisen, Rochester, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Richard (Darlene) Magee, Austin, Kenneth (Pat) Magee, Austin, sister-in-law, Marion Mendenhall, Bloomingdale, Ill.; brother-in-law, Richard (Erlys) Goslee, Byron, Minn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; son, Keith; daughter, Janiene; sister, Vila; brother-in-law, Cedrick “Stub” Warrington and brother-in-law, Ed Mendenhall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008 at First United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dennis Tamke officiating. Interment will be in London Cemetery in London, Minn. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church on Tuesday.
