William J. Sathre, 78
William James Sathre, 78 of Austin died on Nov. 3, 2008 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
He was born Oct. 22, 1930 in Austin, to Johnnie and Bertha (Benson) Sathre. William graduated from Austin High School and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. William married Morna Miner on Nov. 19, 1955, in Sargeant, Minn. William owned and operated several businesses, including a grocery store and a carpet cleaning service. William and Morna also received the WCCO Good Neighbor Award. In his spare time, William loved to play cards, especially cribbage.
William is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Peter (Kim) Sathre, Buckley, Wash., Johnny Sathre, Fairfax, Okla., Allan Sathre, Montgomery, Ill.;  daughters and son-in-law, Sandy (Kevan) Kohler, Columbia Heights, Minn., Tammy Sathre-Rizvi, Fridley, Minn.; grandchildren, Zehra, William, Abraham, and Robert; brothers and sisters, Harvey (Alice) Sathre, Adams, Minn.; Paul (Alice) Sathre, Austin, Joanne Sathre, Austin, Dorothy (Sparky) Bellrichard, Austin, Helen (Byron) Huseby, Adams, Donna (TJ) Williams, Albuquerque, N.M., Joann (Tom) Adams, Boulder City, Colo., Ann (Gary) Eppen, Goodyear, Ariz.; nieces, nephews and Cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008 at St. Olaf Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ron Barnett officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Austin with Olaf B. Damm Post #1216 VFW and Austin Post #91 American Legion in charge of military rites. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. and at the church for one hour before the service.
 William is preceded in death by his wife Morna and brother Maynard.
