A Level III sex offender public notification meeting will be held 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, 1600 West Oakland Avenue.

Austin Chief of Police Paul M. Philipp announced the Thursday meeting as required by law.

Shannon Michael Benson, 29, moved into the Sterling Motel last week, which is across West Oakland Avenue from the church.

However, Benson may have been evicted from the motel over the weekend.

Austin police could not confirm a new residence today (Monday), but the police chief did say the public notification meeting will proceed as scheduled Thursday.
