Mathilda Gilgenbach

Mathilda (Tillie) Gertrude Gilgenbach, age 100, died Thursday evening, Nov. 27, 2008 at the Adams Health Care Center, Adams, Minn.
Mathilda was born to John and Mary (Fasbender) Gilgenbach on April 20, 1908 in Lodi Township, Mower County. She attended the Lodi country school and the Sacred Heart School in Adams.  Tillie worked for the Kahler Hotel in Rochester as a waitress for 43 years, retiring in 1973. She enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, traveling and fishing.  She has been a resident of the Adams Health Care Center since April 1, 1995.
Mathilda is survived by sister-in-law: Isabelle Gilgenbach, Adams; brother-in-law: Richard Badger, Rochester; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Edward (in infancy), Francis and Alfred; and sisters Mildred Koenigs, Agnes Smith and Betty Badger.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Dec. 1, 2008 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father James Seitz Officiating.  Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Adams.  Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. with a 4 p.m. Rosary service, and also at the Funeral Home on Monday morning from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Memorials are preferred to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church or School or to the donor’s choice.
