Man found unconscious after crash

A 43-year-old McIntire, Iowa man was flown to St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester, early Sunday morning, following a one-vehicle accident.
According to the Mower County Sheriff’s Office report, Wade Butterfield, 43 of McIntire, Iowa, was found unconscious in his automobile in a ditch between 160th and 170th Streets along Mower County CSAH No. 8, by a passing motorist at 6:43 a.m. Sunday.
Grand Meadow and Adams emergency services units responded to the accident scene and extricated Butterfield from the Toyota Camry automobile.
He was immediately flown from the accident scene to the Rochester hospital.
Authorities did not have more information abbot the extent of his injuries.
Butterfield was alone in the vehicle, according to the accident report.
Investigators reported he may have been unconscious and trapped in the vehicle for a lengthy period of time because frost had formed on the automobile.
