The Austin Main Street Project will host a showcase of their recent projects on Thursday, Dec. 4 from 5 to 7 p.m. More than 10 businesses will be holding open houses as part of the “Main Street Showcase 2008.”
“We have had so many projects this past year that we decided to hold one event to feature them all,” said Sarah Douty, executive director of the Austin Main Street Project. “We are happy to have the opportunity to show the community all of the exciting new developments that have happened downtown over the past year.”
To encourage people to visit all the businesses, there will be a “passport” to be stamped at each business. After visiting all the businesses, visitors can turn in the completed passports at the B& J Bar and Grill to be entered into a drawing for a number of door prizes donated by the downtown businesses.
The drawing will be held at approximately 7 p.m. at the B & J.
The Austin Main Street Project, Inc is an independent, non-profit organization made up of more than 30 volunteers committed to the revitalization of downtown Austin.
