Kenneth Nelson

Kenneth Leland Nelson, age 88 of Adams, Minn. died Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at Adams Health Care Center, Adams.
Kenneth was born March 9, 1920 in Freeborn County, Minn. to Jesse and Evelyn (Nagel) Nelson. He graduated from high school and attended the University of Minnesota, St. Paul. Kenneth was married to June L. Otto on Dec. 28, 1944 at the Dexter United Methodist Church. They resided in the Adams area where he farmed until his retirement.
Kenneth was a member of the Little Cedar Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council. He has also served on the Adams School Board and was a member of the Mower County Pork Producers, the Adams Lions Club and the Sons of Norway.
He enjoyed traveling, dancing, boating and golf as well as he daily visits “downtown” and spending time with friends. But most of all he enjoyed he family.
Kenneth is survived by his wife: June L. Nelson, Adams; son: Conrad (Diane) Nelson, Knoxville, Iowa; daughters: Marna (Darren) Hansen, Des Moines, Iowa, Janine (Scott) Hayden, Pine Island, Minn.; granddaughter: Amber Lohman; grandsons: Ryan Schacht, Zachary Hansen, Derek Nelson, Grant Nelson, Cale Nelson; great grandchildren: Kelsey, Bailey and Cody sister-in-law: Dorothy Nelson, Austin.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Nelson; sister, Mavis Nelson, and great-granddaughter, Anna Lynn Lohman.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 14, 2008 at Little Cedar Lutheran Church with the Reverend Shari Mason officiating. Interment will be at the Little Cedar Lutheran Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be at Little Cedar Lutheran Church on Friday from noon until the time of the service. The Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Organist will be Pat Hinz. Casketbearers will be Amber Lohman, Ryan Schacht, Zachary Hansen, Derek Nelson, Cale Nelson, Dennis Nelson, Dean Nelson and Grant Nelson.
