June Ringling, 74, of Alexandria died early Monday, Nov. 3, 2008 at the Melrose Area Hospital in Melrose, Minn.
June Beatrice West was born on June 16, 1934 in Spooner, Minn. to James and Elsie (Norman) West. She graduated from Williams High School. On April 15, 1955 she married Donald Ringling. She worked at a bank in Warroad, Minn. Donald and June had four children. They lived in various locations over the years. They were in Sioux Falls, S.D.; Oklahoma City, Okla.; several suburbs of Minneapolis; Evansville, Ind.; Cudahy, Wis. and finally Thief River Falls. They resided in Thief River for over 30 years. After their retirement, they spent their winter in Sierra Vista, Ariz. In 2005 the Ringlings moved to Alexandria, Minn.
June enjoyed working on family histories, quilting and crafting, gardening and traveling. She also taught Sunday School for many years. Blessed be her memory.
She is survived by her husband, Donald Ringling, Alexandria; children, Debra Crow, Washington, Richard (Linda) Ringling, Austin, Cindy Ringling, Alexandria and Lisa Ringling, Florida; grandchildren, Randi, Misty, Crystal, Dakota, Anthony, Kristina, Raey, Amanda, Karianna, Jason, Alexander; great-grandchildren, Amy, Zac, Cristy, Joshua, Anthony, Aden, Sydney, Raey, Dylan.
Preceding her in death are her parents, five sisters and three brothers.
A wake will be held on Friday, Nov. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis, Minn. Funeral services will be held for June at the Immaculate Conception Church in Osakis on Saturday, Nov. 8, at 10:30 a.m. with Father Ralph Zimmerman officiating. Interment will be at the West Evergreen Cemetery. Lunch will follow the service at the church fellowship hall. Arrangements are being made through Roy-Hetland Funeral Home in Osakis.
