OFFENSE
QB — Austin Moe, BP
The senior trigger man had his season cut short due to an injury, but he still had 1,523 yards passing for 19 TDs and 4 interceptions, while rushing for 998 yards and 11 scores. Moe had the second most total yards in Minnesota High School football history with 476 in a 62-25 win over St. James Sept. 5.
RB — Jerrad Ryks, Austin
The junior back jumped into his first year as a starter for the Packers and carried most of the offensive workload. Ryks ran for 1145 yards (5.5 per carry) and 15 TDs, while catching eight pass for 82 yards. Ryks, who ran for over 100 yards eight of nine games this season, had 220 yards rushing and four touch downs in a 38-21 homecoming win over Mankato East Oct. 3
RB — Nate Williamson, Lyle/Pacelli
The senior back was a dual threat for the Athletics as he had 816 yards (5.7 per carry) and 12 TDs on the ground, while catching 22 passes for 159 yards and 3 touch downs.
WR — Alan May, Southland
The sophomore had a breakout year for the Rebels as he hauled in 33 passes for 578 yards and 4 TDs.
WR — Josh Toquam
The senior wideout had 33 catches for 530 yards as helped the Awesome Blossoms stretch the field.
TE — Cooper Nelson, BP
The sophomore grew up fast for the Blossoms as he hauled in 30 catches for 460 yards and seven scores — including two TD grabs in a playoff win over Goodhue
OL — Justin Yerhot, Austin
The physical senior was a big lead blocker on most of Ryks longer runs.
OL — Aaron Krejci, BP
The senior center helped boost BP’s rushing attack up the middle.
OL — Josh Johnson, BP
The senior lineman was a leader on a very physical Blossoms’ line.
OL — Justin Hutchingson, LP
The senior cleared a lot of paths for Williamson and was solid on pass protection.
OL — Tyler Stroebel, Hayfield
The senior blocker was a standout for the Vikings.
DEFENSE
S — Matt Zellmer, BP
The senior ball hawk pulled in 14 interceptions in 10 games this season for the Blossoms.
S — Michael Gehling, GM
The Grand Meadow junior was a dominant force for the Superlarks as he racked up 105 tackles, six interceptions and six sacks.
CB — Brady Stier, LP
Lyle/Pacelli’s junior defensive back was everywhere for the Athletics as he was a had 44 tackles, three sacks, five fumble recoveries, an interception and one blocked kick.
CB — Alan May, Southland
The sophomore was a force in the secondary for the Rebels as he picked off eight passes in nine games.
LB — Jeff Hagstrom, BP
The junior backer was the most consistent force tackler for the Blossoms as he made 136 stops on the year.
LB — Nate Williamson, LP
The senior backer anchored the Athletics’ defense with 71 tackles, four sacks, and two fumble recovries.
LB — Adam Hemann, Austin
The senior defender made big plays at big times for the Packers. Hemann finished with 54 tackles, five sacks, two interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
DL — Jacob Hamlin, L/O
The Cardinals senior led the Southeast Conference with 13 sacks.
DL — Mike Hirsch, Austin
The junior end used quickness and speed to make up for a lack of size as he made 50 tackles, four sacks, and recovred a fumble for the Packers.
DL — Justin Hutchingson, LP
The senior anchored Lyle/Pacelli’s defense with 39 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and two fumble recoveries.
DL — Tyler Bentzin, Austin
In his first year as a full-time varsity player, the junior showed a good mix of size and speed as he racked up 41 tackles, six sacks and forced a fumble.
HONORABLE
MENTION
John Crape, LB, Austin
The senior linebacker had 71 tackles, a sack and two fumble recoveries for the Pack.
Matt Zellmer, QB, BP
The senior did a solid job of relieving the Blossoms during Moe’s absence. Zellmer had 810 yards passing with six touchdowns and two interceptions, while rushing for 430 yards and six scores.
Michael Gehling, RB, GM
Gehling ran for 621 yards (7.3 per carry) with six TDs, and he had 13 catches for 160 yards and three scores.
John Maxfield, TE, Austin
The senior was a big third down target for the Packers as he finished with 31 catches for 310 yards and three scores.
Andy Burton, OL, Austin
The senior was a big force on the Packers’ offensive push up front.
Jeff Doerhoffer, DL, BP
The junior provided a strong outside rush for the Blossoms with nine sacks.
Chris May, CB, Southland
The junior defensive back had four interceptions for the Rebels.
