Frances A. Kolb, 93
Frances Adeline Kolb, 93, of Austin, died on Nov. 22, 2008 at the Austin Medical Center.
Frances was born May 29, 1915 in Austin to Frederick and Emma (Meyer) Schroeder. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church by the late Pastor Milbrath. She was the fifth of seven children. On June 22, 1935 she was united in marriage to Louis C. Kolb in Austin. He preceded her in death on Feb. 20, 1991.
Frances was a homemaker and she lived in Austin her whole life. She spent some time in the 1960s working at Kolb Bakery. Frances enjoyed playing cards at the senior center, baking, gardening, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, David (Sally) Kolb, Austin, John (Judy) Kolb, Post Falls, Idaho; five grandchildren, Scott Kolb, Austin, Steven (Judy) Kolb, Scottsdale, Ariz., Aaron (Ami) Kolb, Oak Park, Ill., Susan (Scott) Lewis, Post Falls, Idaho, Jason (Ana) Kolb, Somerset, N.J.; 14 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Emma Schroeder, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 28, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Church with the Reverend Larry LaDassor officiating. Friends may call one hour before the service at the church. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. John’s Lutheran Church Seminary Fund or the donor’s choice. Mayer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
