A Minnesota National Guard veteran who recently returned from Afghanistan saw his home destroyed by fire last week.

According to local veterans, including Everett DeYoung, a benefit will be held for the victim Sunday.

Bob Hanson will be going back overseas again this winter, according to Norman Hecimovich, Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve liaison officer.

Grand Meadow friends of the Hanson family will be having a public benefit breakfast 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Finbarr’s Catholic Church, Grand Meadow.
