An Austin couple slept through a home burglary early Sunday morning.
According to an Austin Police Department report, the burglary occurred at a residence located in the 700 block of Sixth Avenue Northwest.
While a 35-year-old man slept in an upstairs bedroom, the 31-year-old woman was asleep in a downstairs bedroom.
The female victim told an investigating officer she was awakened by the sounds of someone moving about the house.
She awoke her male companion in the upstairs bedroom.
When they investigated, they discovered a rear screen door open as well as a porch door and called police.
No forced entry was found at the residence, but a police officer found the woman’s wallet outside on the grass. Credit cards were missing, according to the police report.
