Spring Grove beat Lyle/Pacelli’s volleyball team by scores of 25-19, 25-19, 26-24 Monday night in Pacelli.

The Athletics (5-15-2 overall) led early in the first two games — including a 6-1 advantage in the first game — but they couldn’t hold on as Spring Grove’s Katelyn Bjerke caused some problems while serving four aces, getting five kills, and three ace blocks.

“Bjerke really hurt us at the service line,” L/P head coach Carl Ellis said. “Even when we returned her serves, we had a tough time controlling them.”

“Serving is a huge thing,” Ellis said.
