Leola G. Johnson, 92
Leola Genevieve Johnson, 92, of Austin, died on Oct. 6, 2008, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.
She was born April 22, 1916 to William and Marie (Bramer) Countryman in Kasson, Minn. She married Donald C. Johnson in Rochester in 1934. They moved to the Austin area in 1941. A member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Leola loved dancing, baking, playing cards and visiting. Don was promoted to heaven on June 13, 1993. Leola moved to Tennessee briefly in 2001 and returned to make her home in Austin later that year. Leola became a resident of St. Mark’s Lutheran Home in 2002.
Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl (Stennis) Cooper, Maryville, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Michael Holderness, Cary, N.C., Marc Holderness, Pequot Lakes, Laura Holderness, Dodge Center; Tamara Dempsy, Glencoe, Ill. and Donielle Stone, Louisville, Tenn.
She was greeted in heaven by her parents, Marie and William Countryman; husband, Donald C. Johnson; two daughters, Dawn in infancy and Janelle; son-in-law, Gene Holderness, two sisters and a beloved pet, Ebony.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008 at  Worlein Funeral Home in Austin with the Reverend Pamela Aandahl Solberg officiating. Friends may call from 5 – 7 p.m., Friday at Worlein Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Interment is at Oakwood Cemetery in Austin. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Mark’s Lutheran Home.
