The fifth annual Haunted Barn and Halloween Party fundraiser will be held Saturday at the Jeff and Georgia Ramaker farm.
Last year, the Ramakers and their family and friends raised more than $1,300 for the Lyle Area Cancer Auction in four hours.
“We couldn’t have done it without the help of our family and friends,” Georgia Ramaker said.
Small children, who may be easily scared are advised to come early, according to Ramaker and be escorted by parents or other adults.
The activities will take place 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday. In the event of inclement weather, the activities will all be held indoors on the Ramaker farm.
Guided tours through the Haunted Barn will be held, and costumed characters will be there to greet visitors.
Food and drinks will be served and there will also be karaoke.
Last year’s pre-Halloween celebration attracted more than 100 people, according to the hosts.
To get to the Haunted Barn, go south on U.S. Highway 218 and turn east on Mower County CSAH No. 6 at the north edge of Lyle. Then, go east on CSAH No. 6 to 110th Street and turn left.
There will be signs to direct visitors.
There is no admission to the events, but free will donations will be accepted.
All proceeds go to the 2009 Lyle Area Cancer Auction.
