A Gifted and Talented Education Kickoff will be held Thursday, Oct. 9.

Parents for Academic Excellence and the Austin School District are hosting the 6:30 to 8 p.m. event Oct. 9 at Neveln Elementary School.

According to Amy Baskin, director, community education and communications for the Austin School District, “This meeting will provide an opportunity to learn about the Gifted and Talented Education group (PAE), issues of advocacy, parenting and resources.”

In addition, parents will learn about the district’s plan for Gifted and Talented Education programming, a Hormel Foods Corp. grant and what is new.

Parents will meet other parents of high potential children, the district’s contact people and Gifted and Talented Education intervention specialists and coordinator.
