Doris M. Wilson, 85
Doris Marie Wilson, 85, of Austin, passed away on Oct. 24, 2008 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn.
She was born on April 9, 1923, in Austin to Basil and Bertha Fae (Tanner) Barrows. She grew up in Austin and graduated from Austin High School. On Jan. 1, 1942, she married Donald E. Wilson in Austin. They lived in Austin all their lives, abd both worked and retired from Hormel. Don died in 1998. Doris was a member of Crane Community Chapel. She enjoyed playing cards, ceramics and being with all her friends and family. She collected angels, which were an inspiration to her life. It was said that she never met a stranger, and if she did, they weren’t a stranger for long.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Tom (Melodie) Wilson; brother, Max (Ruth) Barrows, Iowa; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister-in-law, Viola Miller, Rochester; brother-in-law, Wilbur (Mary) Wilson, Owatonna; 36 nieces and nephews; many great nieces and nephews and all her beloved friends.
A memorial service will be held at Crane Community Chapel on Saturday, Nov. 1, at 1:30 p.m.
