David Rasmussen, 60
David Rasmussen, 60, of Machesney Park, Ill. died Oct. 26, 2008 in Rockford Memorial Hospital.
He was born Oct. 6, 1948 in Austin, the son of Robert A. and Evelyn Rasmussen. Proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. David retired in 1998 from Chrysler after 31 years of employment. His passions in life were his Harleys and gardening. Survivors include wife, Yvonne “Bonnie” Rasmussen; children, Erin (Charles) Emerson, Concord, N.C., Joyce (Thomas) Flynn, Roscoe, Danny (Gina) Morris, Rockford, Ill.; brothers, Jeff Rasmussen, Maple Grove, Minn. and Larry Rasmussen, Austin; nephew, Chris Rasmussen; grandchildren, Brittany (Jake) Petry, Rachal Woody, Joshua Woody; great-grandchildren, Eathen and Landen.
He was preceded by his parents and brother, Robert D. Rasmussen.
Visitation will be from 3 – 5 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 with services staring at 5 p.m. in Sunset Funeral Home in Rockford. Cremation rites will be accorded. Tributes to the family can be made at www.mem.com
Teresa D. Sanchez, 93
Teresa D. Sanchez, 93, of Blooming Prairie, Minn. died on Oct. 26, 2008, at the Austin Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 15, 1915 in Runge, Texas, the daughter of Juan and Ulalia (Rodriguez) Herrera. She grew up in Runge and married Antonio M. Sanchez on Feb. 27, 1943 in Runge, Texas. They moved to Blooming Prairie in 1965. A homemaker, she was member of St. Columbanus Catholic Church, and enjoyed her garden and flowers. She loved playing with her grandchildren and spending time with her family.
She is survived by three daughters, Maria “Mary” Perez (Domingo Flores), Blooming Prairie, Dominga “Sandy” (Robert) Coughlin, Dodge Center and Guadelupe “Lupe” (Glen) Hoheisel, Blooming Prairie; three sons, Jose “Tony” (Sue), Owatonna, Juan (Celia) Sr., Owatonna, and Glenn, Rochester; 18 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; two brothers, Felipe Herrera and Mateo (Marilyn) Herrera, both of Poteet, Texas; many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tony; one sister; three brothers and two sons.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columbanus Catholic Church in Blooming Prairie with Father William Kulas officiating. Friends may call at Worlein – Blooming Prairie Funeral Home from 4 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 29 and one hour before the service at the church. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. and a prayer service at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Interment will be at St. Columbanus Catholic Cemetery. The family prefers memorials for donor’s choice.
