Berdella E. Johnson, 91
Berdella Elizabeth Johnson, 91, formerly of Waltham, Minn., died on Oct. 1, 2008, at Golden Living Center East in Rochester, Minn.
Berdella Elizabeth Hofschulte was born on Oct. 18, 1916, the daughter of William and Susan (Wever) Hofschulte in Mazeppa, Minn. Berdella was married to Orville Johnson on Jan. 30, 1945, in Rochester. The couple farmed outside of Sargeant and Waltham areas and later moved to Waltham. Berdella enjoyed playing cards, bingo, crocheting and knitting. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield.
Berdella is survived by her son, Gary Johnson, Waltham; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orville in 1981; five sisters and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 9-10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield. Czaplewski Family Funeral Home in Hayfield is in charge of arrangements.
The funeral mass will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hayfield with the Reverend William Kulas celebrating. Interment will be in Evanger Lutheran Cemetery in rural Sargeant, Minn.
