Man falls from tree Sunday

The second mishap involving a fall from a tree occurred Sunday.
Nickie Carranza, 50 of Austin, fell 35 to 30 feet to the ground, while trimming a tree.
According to an Austin Police Department report, the mishap occurred 4:21 p.m. Sunday at 1902 22nd Drive Southwest.
The mishap was witnessed by a friend of the victim’s, who told police Carranza used shoe spikes to ascend the tree but had no safety harness.
The victim was taken to Austin Medical Center — Mayo Health System, where he is recovering from the fall.
Last week, a 32-year old Austin man fell head-first to the ground, while trimming a tree.
He is recovering from his injuries at St. Mary’s Hospital, Rochester.
