Chef’s Auction to benefit Paramount

Published 10:32 am Friday, September 26, 2008

A lot is at stake Sunday night, when the first Chef’s Auction fundraiser for the Paramount Theatre is held.

When it was originally scheduled, weak ticket sales forced its cancellation until a later date.

Sunday night is that date, when organizers believe they have a one-of-a-kind night of food, fun and fundraising in store for guests.

A social hour starts the evening at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Austin Eagles Club.

A silent auction follows until a live auction, featuring auctioneer Glenn Medgaarden gets underway at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are $20 per person or $30 per couple.

Chefs from the area’s top restaurants and supper clubs will be serving dishes and entrees from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Among the items offered during the silent and live auctions will be four, one-way tickets to Las Vegas, complements of Allegiant Airlines.

Among the restaurants, chefs and cooks supporting the fundraiser, there will be dinners served in homes, barbecues and parties complements of the star cooks in the area.

For instance, The Brickhouse is donating lunch for five people.

Football fans will want to bid on Minnesota Vikings tickets for the 2009 season.

Some lucky bidder will take home 10 tickets to the Michael Veldman and Friends holiday show in December at the Paramount Theatre.

Also during the evening, John Deyo will debut a new DVD showcasing the 2008-09 season at the Paramount Theatre.
