The Fifth annual Veteran Appreciation Day featuring a World War II-era, Korea-era and Vietnam-era mini-reunions, will be Saturday, Sept. 13 beginning at 9 a.m. at the St. Ansgar, Iowa America Legion.

Come and share a story with a buddy. Bring your photos and memorabilia.

The guest speaker is Women’s Army Corps Vietnam vet, Mavis Schmidt of Northwood, Iowa. Mavis was the personal secretary of Commanding General Creighton Abrams.

The Meitner Polka Band will play and a delicious lunch is served.

Veteran Appreciation Day is free, open to the public and smoke/alcohol free.

Spouses and children are welcome.
