Michael H. Haider, 82
Michael Hugh Haider, 82 of Austin, a beloved husband and father passed away at his residence on Aug. 14, 2008.
He was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Beulah, N.D., to Michael and Alice (McLaughlin) Haider. Michael served in World War II and spent 20 years in the military. Michael married his wife Akiko in Japan and they had a son, Mark. After retiring from the military, Michael worked for the BATF and retired in 1982. Michael and his wife lived in White Bear Lake, Minn., for thirty six years and moved to Austin in May of 2006.
He is survived by his wife, Akiko; son, Mark (Laurie); grandchildren, Michael and Nicole; nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and a brother .
A memorial service will be held Friday, Aug. 22, at 11 a.m., at Cremation Society of Minnesota, 4343 Nicollet Ave. South, Mpls. With interment at Ft. Snelling.
