Each year, the Mower County Fair Board honors those vendors who were genuine crowd-pleasers at the annual Mower County Fair.

This year, one of the county fair’s mainstays — the Mower County American Dairy Association malt stand — emerged the top winner at the 2008 Mower County Fair Aug. 5-10 at the fairgrounds in southwest Austin.

The winners included:

Outside concession ribbons

First place, grand champion, American Dairy Association Malt Stand, and second place, reserve champion, Kroeker’s Concessions.

Plager Building concession ribbons

First place, grand champion, Mower County Chemical Health Coalition, and second place, reserve champion, Riverland Community College.
