Letter: Welcome Center ‘playing the race card’

The pet project of Apex Austin is finally coming to fruition. With all their effort of sending civic leaders for training and raising money to integrate immigrants from all over the world, it has come down to playing the race card.
Citizens of Austin gathered in an MCFIR forum on Aug. 18 to hear experts speak on combating illegal aliens in America. Only to read in the Austin Herald “This is a small group, but if people start believing them, we are going to go back to Ku Klux Klan,” said Liliana Sylvestry of the Welcome Center.
Those attending the forum were concerned citizens, seniors and veterans.
The Rule of law is what the MCFIR group is trying to get across when having these forums. This is not about race, gender or creed, it’s about laws that need to be upheld.
Patriotism in Austin has become a dirty word and those who disrespect our laws are vilified by the media.
The Welcome Center should be shut down, and the Apex Austin group should be expose for their efforts to integrate instead of migrate. Unite instead of diverse.
Uphold the laws instead of ignoring them.
If you disagree with the forums on combating illegals, then you disagree on the Constitution.
The race card is only played when you have run out of ideas on how to solve a problem. In Austin, illegals are a problem, no matter what race.
The MCFIR group holds the American flag at its highest. Do you?
