The final design plans for the new Mower County Jail and Justice Center could be ready for the public’s inspection later this month.
At Tuesday’s regular county board meeting, county coordinator Craig Oscarson said the architects are in the final design development stage of the jail/justice center plans.
Oscarson said they could be unveiled for all to see Tuesday, Aug. 26 at a meeting tentatively scheduled for 7 p.m. in the commissioners’ meeting room at the Law Enforcement Center.
Also at that meeting, reports on the proposed remodeling of the Mower County-Austin Law Enforcement Center and Mower County Department of Human Services headquarters in Oak Park Mall could also be available for review.
Mower County plans to build a 128-bed jail and justice center on two city blocks of land made available by the city of Austin.
