Delbert B. Adams, 82
Delbert Bruce Adams, 82, of Austin died on Aug. 22, 2008 at Good Samaritan Society Comforcare.
He was born July 12, 1926 in Forest City, Iowa to Victor and Eva (Fisher) Adams. Delbert served in the Army during World War II. After the war Delbert worked at Weyerhauser. On Sept. 29, 1951, Delbert married Irene “Hoppy” Smith in Austin. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The Adams’ enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, woodworking and doing crafts.
Delbert is survived by his son, Darrel Adams, Sioux City, Iowa; step-son, Marlen (Betty) Dingman, Mo.; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene “Hoppy” Adams and his siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 28, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Brett Asay officiating. Interment will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Austin with Olaf B. Damm #1216, Veteran of Foreign Wars and
Austin Post #91, American Legion, in charge of military rites. Visitation will be at Clasen-Jordan Mortuary on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. and for one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
