The Packer girls tennis team (6-1 overall, 2-0 Big Nine) beat Owatonna 6-1 in Austin Thursday.
Austin No. 2 singles player Kathryn Gavin stayed undefeated by beating Sarah McCahn 6-0, 6-3.
“Kathryn is such a tough competitor and at that spot,” Austin head coach Thomas Tauchnitz said. “Her transition from doubles to single has been amazing.”
In No. 1 doubles, Laura Astrup and Sophie Hebrink handled Chantel Gettung and Steph Battelson 6-2, 6-0.
“Laura Astrup and Sophie Hebrink played an aggressive style of tennis dominating their opponents at the net and forcing there opponents to play defensively,” Tauchnitz said.
