Austin’s own Symphony Orchestra will be presenting the pre-fireworks concert at Austin Community Bandshell Park Thursday, Independence Day.

Conductor of the evening will be Kevin Berdine, Austin High School Orchestra director.

Featured will be marches, show tunes, polkas, salutes to U.S. military forces and America, and a new composition written for the Minnesota State Sesquicentennial celebration.

Vocalists on this number will be Taylor Bliese and Paul Pruitt.

Bliese will also solo on tunes from the movie “Chicago,” which includes “All That Jazz.”

Of course, the evening will not be complete without the favorite “Stars and Stripes,” which will lead directly into the fireworks display.

The public is invited and the concert is free.
