Miscues haunt Blue Sox in loss to Jordan

The Blue Sox made some costly mistakes in a 3-2 loss at Jordan Tuesday night.
Austin (9-14 overall) took a 2-0 lead in the fourth on an RBI single by Josh Kunze and a sacrifice fly by Mark Harber, but Jordan scored twice in the fourth and once in the eighth.
Duell Higbe took a hard luck loss for the Blue Sox as all three runs were unearned.
“Duell pitched a great game. They weren’t really getting good contact against him,” Blue Sox manager Josh Kunze said. “We just didn’t score enough runs for him, which can be frustrating for a pitcher.”
Jordan scored two in the fourth as they had a hitter reach on an error to start the inning, and had a run score when the Blue Sox threw the ball into the outfield on a double steal. The second run scored on a groundout.
In the eighth, Jordan took the lead when Austin let a pop up drop, which put the go-ahead run at second base. The run scored on a single.
Austin played the game shorthanded without it’s top four hitters.
“We had a makeshift team, but we competed,” Kunze said.
