The complaint said Luna was upset about the arrest and blamed the victim, who told police that the defendant pointed a gun at him and said he should shoot him, though didn’t because the victim and his brother were close.

After a conversation, Luna allegedly told the victim that he was going to talk to his brother and advised him to keep his “mouth shut” in the meantime.

The defendant left in a jeep that would later be searched as part of a warrant by police that included Luna’s Clinton Street home in Mapleview and several vehicles associated with the drug investigation.

No one was present when authorities executed the search warrant around 9 a.m. in Mapleview, though they allegedly found documents under the names “Ortiz,” “Sara Mata,” “Juan Luna,” “Santos Omar Luna-Almaraz,” and “Omar E. Luna.”

Police believe that a woman and toddler also live Luna’s address. The complaint the documents were likely used to gain employment at Austin-based Quality Pork Processors.

Members of the Southeast Minnesota Narcotics Task Force and Bureau of Criminal Apprehension arrested Luna at his brother’s Rochester home, and allegedly recovered a handgun — an Enfield .38-caliber revolver — in the jeep.

According to the complaint, Luna has been deported to Mexico multiple times, and has a criminal conviction from Freeborn County.
