Letter: How do you thank everyone?

On July 12, 2008, we had an unfortunate house fire due to a strike of lightning. Although it was tragic, we feel fortunate to be surrounded by community who rises above such challenges and moves forward. We don’t know how to begin to thank everyone, but we’re going to try.
First and foremost, we would like to thank the Blooming Prairie Volunteer and Hayfield Fire Departments. Their expedience to the scene was outstanding! Also, the thoughtfulness they exhibited as they were fighting the fire. They were able to save our most prized possessions, our photos of 19 years of marriage and family. They also were able to save our wedding rings. Since the day of the fire, fireman have stopped out to help and bring us things we may have lost. We could never repay them for all their excellence and thoughtfulness.
We would also like to express our gratitude to the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department, namely, Officer Jeff Hoffman and Mike Karlen. Jeff was very pleasant and comforting during this time of tragedy. Many thanks to him and Mike Karlen.
Next, we would like to extend our thanks to the Blooming Prairie and surrounding communities, our friends, neighbors and family. We would love to thank all of you for your generosity with food, help, prayers and companionship. Your compassion for us has changed our lives.
