Letter: Bush administration forecast came true

Below is my letter from the Herald on May 26, 2003. Notice the accuracy of the predictions.

“I want to direct your attention to the document titled, “The National Security Strategy of the United States.” Check with a Congress person, the library or the Internet, www.whitehouse.gov/nsc/nss.html. You will see the scheme by Bush, Cheney and Rumsfeld for establishing an American empire in the entire Middle East.

Did you notice how quickly Bush became bored, tired and distracted from finding Osama bin Laden? Osama opened the door for Bush to start building the empire, but he’s not all that important in the big plan. The top priorities for Bush and his boys are oil, empire and limitless corporate profits.

Below are a few things to look for in the months ahead:

1. Big sums of American tax money will be given to Halliburton, Bechtel, Fluor, ExxonMobil and other corporations for work in the Middle East.

2. Worldwide resentment of the United States will greatly increase.

3. The occurrence of terrorism will become rampant.

4. There will be an increase of assaults by Bush on America’s liberties.

5. Our military will stay not months, but years in the Middle East.

6. Bush will beg the American people and Congress for more money to build his empire.”

It’s clear the people voting for Bush in 2004 failed to use good judgment. John McCain has become a “clone” of the Bush Administration. Anyone voting for McCain will be exercising bad judgment.
