Herman V. Kruckeberg, 83
Herman Vernon Kruckeberg, 83, passed away at his home in Blooming Prairie on July 27, 2008.
He was born Aug. 12, 1924 at his family home in Steele County, Minn., to Herman and Amelia (Behne) Kruckeberg. Herman graduated from Blooming Prairie High School. He married Harriet Hunter at St. John’s Lutheran Church on March 22, 1944. The couple made their home in Newry where they started farming. Moving to the Waltham area in 1964, they retired after 44 years of farming. They moved to Blooming Prairie.
Herman enjoyed carpentry, fishing, playing cards and golfing with family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Harriet, Blooming Prairie; three daughters, Judy (William) Nygren, Buffalo City, Wis., Connie (Michael) Leighton, Boynton Beach, Fla., Debbie (Daryl) Nelson, Blooming Prairie; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; sister, Marcella Garrett, Faribault; brother, Kenneth, Blooming Prairie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; seven brothers; three sisters and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 30, 2008 at First Lutheran Church in Blooming Prairie. Friends may call from 6 – 8 p.m., Tuesday at Worlein Blooming Prairie Funeral Home and at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment is at Blooming Prairie Cemetery.
