Chuck Berg is a former Lyle police chief and retired city maintenance engineer. He also served as assistant fire chief and volunteer in the Lyle Volunteer Fire Department.

Also featured in the parade was Danielle Hinz, who was selected as Little Miss Lyle in the annual pageant. She is the daughter of Allan Hinz and Amy Bruender.

The Saturday morning truck and tractor pull was held despite threatening skies, rain and soft ground.

Only the steel-wheeled tractors were unable to run on the soft track.

Results were not immediately available.

MeadowFest

Andy Andrew, popular Grand Meadow and Racine businessman, was the grand marshal of the 2008 MeadowFest parade Saturday.

Grand Meadow’s celebration was also threatened with inclement weather, but the skies cleared for the mid-Saturday afternoon parade and the celebration continued.
